My question is there a rebate or incentive that is California specific? Also, if you are asking that the car be delivered to Illinois from California, that cost of transportation would have to be taken into consideration as well. Dealers advertising their new cars are doing so at loss leader prices, and even though they may receive a stairstep or other kind of manufacturer incentive for volume, they cannot afford to take heafty losses. I would suggest checking with a local dealer to see if they would come close to the same deal, and do business there.

Doesn't sound right to me. I have purchased cars, boats, PWCs, and aircraft, from all across the country, and I've never been told that. The only issues I've ever had have been related to the sales tax that is due, but a couple of calls got that handled.

I think I would demand that the dealer show you the legal statute that forbids him from selling you the Jeep, and if he can't produce it I would file a claim with the BBB and the California State Attorney General's office for false advertising.

Good luck, and let us know how it turned out.
